MEJA Kitchen + Bar @ TREC, KL

I may have worked really close to Zouk KL and by extension, TREC but my colleagues and I have never made an attempt to visit the food area until I was about to be an ex-colleague.

A good ex-colleague of mine suggested we drop by TREC for dinner on my last day at work.

Meja is having a lunch and supper promotion daily which entitles you to 50% off all food orders from 11am to 3pm and 11pm till their closing time.

Meja had a fairly simple menu - there was a mix of pasta, pizza, western dishes, sandwiches, snacks and desserts - all with an Asian twist. For those who crave familiarity, there's a selection of Asian dishes as well.

We ordered two items to share - a pizza and nachos. Although we weren't eligible for any discounts off the food menu, we were in time for the Buy 1 Pint Free 2 Pints Happy Hour offer. RM45 for 3 pints of Kronenbourg Blanc Draught was a sweet deal.

The Pulled Chicken, Pineapple and Bell Pepper Pizza was a pretty good choice. It had a thin crust and was generously covered in toppings. A sprinkling of chilli flakes made it great for me.

Meja's Chicken Nachos was decent. Each piece was loaded with chicken corn carne and the creamy texture of pinto beans. My only gripe was probably the swiss chard underneath it - very bitter.

Meja is  a good option for lunch, dinner and supper given their current promotions and food quality that's up to par. They're also quieter than the rest of the food joints in TREC so it's a great place to visit if you intend to wind down after a night of clubbing.
